The following are a number of recommended IBM BladeCenter Advanced Management Module (AMM) settings for both discovery/updates using IBM Systems Director.
TCP Command Mode Protocol
Set this value to at least 10 (my screen capture shows 20) before discovering your BladeCenter’s AMM with Director. If you use an SSL certificate, also set the Secure command mode value.
SNMP v3 Settings
Ensure the following two SNMP v3 is Enabled and the Access Type is set to Set
Systems Director TFTP Server
On your Systems Director server ensure your Update Manager TFTP server is enabled.
You should now be ready to not only discover/authenticate to your BladeCenter’s AMM, but also perform AMM firmware updates from Systems Director 6.x
